Dr. B. R. Ambedkar School of Economics University celebrated the 74th Republic Day with much ceremony and celebration. The day begun with the hosting of the Indian flag by the honourable Vice Chancellor, Dr. N. R Bhanumurthy in the presence of our Registrar Dr. H.R. Shivakumar, faculty, students and staff.
Following this, Dr. N. R Bhanumurthy addressed the students and highlighted the crucial phase our economy is going through. Dr. H. R. Shivakumar addressed the gathering and reminded the students on the importance of active participation in national building. Our student Akshai sang Vandemataram song in his soulful voice to mesmerize the audience. A speech on India’s growth since independence was delivered by our student Shubhankar Dubey.
The Theatre and Drama Club presented a skit showcasing the importance of our fundamental rights and duties as citizens brilliantly. The Debate club presented the first open debate in the campus on the motion “This house believes that India must continue to exist as a welfare state, as enshrined in the Indian Constitution.” The idea of a welfare state, its rewards and complications were discussed by the speakers, and the discussion was then open for public comment.
It was a momentous occasion with the spirit of patriotism at the centre of it all.
The Dr. B. R. Ambedkar School of Economics University family wishes you all a very Happy 74th Republic day.
